Natasha N. Smith, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Opening up and requesting help can be hard. However, dealing with life’s daily struggles on your own can become very overwhelming. I am a licensed clinical social worker and it is my goal to provide evidence based treatment interventions in a comfortable, non-judgmental and empowering atmosphere providing a sense of relief and hope. I received my Bachelor's degree from UL at Lafayette and my Master's degree from the LSU School of Social Work. I have been in the field of behavioral health for 12 years. I have had the opportunity to work in the acute care setting and outpatient setting with chronically mentally ill patients providing individual, family, and group therapy. I have also worked with children and families in the child welfare system with abuse and neglect issues.
I was born and raised in Opelousas, LA. I have always had a passion for helping others to overcome obstacles and be an objective listener that encourages and motivates people to be their best self. I decided to pursue a career in social work while working with children and families in the field. I was able to get a first-hand view of the diminished protective capacities and the lack of knowledge of available resources to receive help.
As a therapist, I want to help eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health treatment and provide support, education, confrontation and compassion. I want to utilize and teach clients to use practical skills and tools in order to combat their issues, meeting them where they are while tapping into the spiritual realm of a higher power greater than ourselves.
